I just had something similar happen to me. A warning when I returned an item, but denied on the next item that I was returning at the same time. It was even worse because the denied item had been ordered by mistake and despite efforts to cancel the order online within minutes (and many times over the next 2 days, because that's how long the order said it was processing) it was processed and sent. Luckily I was able to immediately cancel the Protection Plan that I ordered for it.
So, now TRE tells me I can't return anything for the next year.
I called the Elite Plus hotline to ask about being unable to cancel the order and ask about the TRE blacklisting, but the operator didn't seem to understand the problem completely. She sent me a UPS return label to ship it back "because the store wouldn't process the return". How do I know it will be processed when I ship it back, since it seems I have a corporate ban?
Needless to say I am unhappy about this. I would assume that the Elite Plus dedicated help team should have some knowledge of corporate policies, but I did not get that impression. How do you get help when the Help Desk can't understand?
What can be done to resolve this situation? I think it is a poor business practice to alienate loyal customers using a third party and buried caveats. As much as it pains me to say it, this denied return may be the last item Best Buy will sell me.

After reviewing the Return Analysis Report from TRE, it looks like many of the entries are for products that were exhanged using the Geek Squad Protection Service. Why pay extra money for protection if using that protection will cause you problems down the line? Will being put on notice by TRE keep you from utilizing the product protection policy that you paid extra money for??

You have great questions. It is my understanding that regardless of what is processed during the transaction, it still counts as a return or an exchange. Again, our team will be happy to work with your situation and see how we can help. If you could please reply to my last private message, it will help me move forward with your case.
