Re: I need a customer support email to write to

I have an issue as well but I am sure I am just going to get the same cookie cutter response of “ we are sorry for the inconvenience and do apologize…” even though I had to waste gas and time to pick up the item and then return a so called “Open Box Excellent” product even thought it was never tested. On 12/ 6 I purchased an Open Box EVGA GT 850w power supply that was so called “ Excellent “ condition. I drive 15miles to the nearest store that had it just to come home and find out that the power supply does not work and was likely returned by someone with the same product that they had and it no longer worked. So what they did was purchase the same product from your store and then returned their faulty product. How do I know well the Power supply has modular cables and is suppose to come with, 1-Motherboard, 2 CPU, 3-VGA and 3-PCIe. Well when I started to check to make sure all the cables were there I found out that the open box had 4-VGA cables and only 2- PCIe cables so that basically tells me that someone bought the exact same product and returned their faulty one since that would be the only explanation as to why I got 4-VGA cables and only 2- PCIe. I then test the power supply and what do you know it does not power on. The so called “ Open Box Excellent condition” give the buyer a false sense of security that the item is actually in working condition. I really don’t appreciate that I had to waste my time and gas to remedy a situation that should never have happened because it was in so called “ excellent condition”. I talk to chat that day saying I need some sort of compensation because now I have to deal with the issue, they tell me their is nothing they can do and that I need to return it to the nearest Best Buy. I ask for a manager and they said that there are no managers available through chat and that the store will be able to remedy the situation. I told them the store isn’t going to do anything but refund me my money and that’s that. Well guess what happened when I went to return it, just that all they said was “ sorry about the inconvenience but can we help you find another product”. I decide just get through with the return and leave as I had to already wait in line 15min to do a return because for some reason returns and purchases are now done at the same register which is a bone head idea to begin with. This whole situation has left a bad taste in my mouth with Best Buy and is going to make me think twice about purchasing anything through Best Buy because all they care about is getting my money and won’t take accountability for their mistake and try to remedy the situation accordingly. Best Buy really needs to vet returns a lot better and should at least test the items before slapping an open box sticker on them and putting them back for sale. Thankfully I checked the product right away because I would have been out $130 if I had left it in the packaging for a few weeks before installing it. Do Better Best Buy and also take care of the customers that do business with you guys!

Re: I need a customer support email to write to

Hello, Jlopez7068,

Thanks for joining and reaching out on the Forum's community. I understand your frustration when you try to save a few bucks and purchase an open box deal, only to find out it was a bad unit. Computer components can be hard to test, due needing a testing rig. Our store may not equip for that. We do appreciate the feedback on this matter. In order to document this, we need you to send a private message, blue button, near my name and provide the following:

  • Full Name
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number

Here to listen,

Re: I need a customer support email to write to

Hard to test really? Don’t have the equipment to test it ? You literally have a computer repair service called Geek Squad at basically every Best Buy location. You mean to tell me that they are not able to test the returned computer components that you guys receive and then slap a open box sticker on? Come on how naïve do you think I am? Then you come with the same cookie cutter response that you tell everyone on this forum “Please provide me with your name, email and phone number so we can document this” I bet if I provide you with that information nothing will happen besides a, “ we appreciate your feedback and we will make sure to look into this to prevent this from happening in the future”

Re: I need a customer support email to write to

Jlopez7068,

Yes, you are correct we do have a Geek Squad at every location there a Best Buy. However, the store geek squad team do not get involved in major repairs, so no they don't have equipment to test components. More involved repairs get sent to our repair facility to be handled properly, since the Geek Squad is limited in a store. If you like this to be document or want further assistance, then you'll need to private message me with the information that was requested previously.

Happy Holidays!
