I’m have the same issue and receive the same statement while trying to upgrade a line on my att account

Returned subscriberNumbers for this billingAccountNumber Exceeds Allowable Quantity. BAN has returned more subscribers than the allowable limit for the customer.

Welcome to our community forums. We work hard to make upgrading to a new phone as quick and easy as possible and I would be happy to see how we can help. Our team is unable to review mobile account information, have you had the opportunity to visit a local Best Buy store for assistance accessing your account? I would also recommend contacting AT&T to make sure there is nothing preventing your account from being upgraded. Please let us know if your local store is unable to further assist you!

Yes I went to a Best Buy store and they see the same message. I also contacted ATT and they don’t see anything on their end as I was on the phone and chat for several hours. I’m able to upgrade the device on ATT website but I would like to purchase it from Best Buy as the phone is cheaper and the store is close by.

I would recommend continuing to work with this store, they have the most tools available to help you troubleshoot this error. As I mentioned our team is unable to view mobile accounts so we will be unable to take a closer look at this.
