Pressure sales on a return?

[ Edited ]

{removed per forum guidelines}

Hello,

I dont know where else to turn and i need a computer asap. I searched for a while to find an open box 2018 macbook pro near me in los angelas, and i finally did 5 days ago. I spent 66 dollars there and back on uber, and when i got home to open the box , the macbook was not as described. It has a large scratch on the speaker which effects the sound quality i think, but im not sure. Also the color is not space grey, i was sent a silver macbook pro. I went to a store closer to me , and they said that the serial number on the inside says it matches in your system to the one i purchased, but since it does not match the description of being space grey i cant return it at their store... I tried to plea with the GM because i cannot afford another 67 dollar uber, and he tried to get me to buy a new macbook pro from him - I told him i would exchange and pay the difference but he said he cant do it, that i have to go all the way to that store again, but he still kept trying to sell me a computer. "Ill hook you up bro" Or something down those lines. I dont just have another 2400 dollars laying around. Overall this was a terrible experience, but the customer service kid was nice and helpful.

I dont think i should have to get pressured into buying something when trying to make a return that the cashier said "wow someone must have not had their coffeee when doing this"

I needed my computer days ago... and while this one is useable its not what was described and not what i wanted. I just want to swap it for another open box or ill even pay the difference... but im not wasting 67 dollars in uber because the principle. Nowhere in the policy does it say that i cant return at a different store. And if the serial number is the same, its just been put in the wrong box? I dont know what happened on your end but its making my like stressful to think im stuck with a 2400 computer that i didnt choose.

I initiated a mail in return..... but i dont trust doing it this way. Not having possession of anything in regards to the money i spent.

I just want to walk into my local best buy, and get what i paid for.... or pay the difference for a new one at this point .

Thank you for your time

Hello AnthonyMannino and thank you for reaching out to us on Best Buy's Community Forums.

I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you've had to exchange the computer you purchased and I apologize for any rude or unprofessional experience while attempting to address the situation.  Can you tell me the location of the store you visited for the exchange?

Can you send a private message to me with your full name, email address, and phone number so we can go into better details about your experience. If you have the purchase receipt information, that would help as well.

Thank you AnthonyMannino.
