Police involved

Very LONG story shorten. 


I left my wallet with $400 dollars cash on the register.  I came back 20 minutes later after I called and they said they had it.  I opened the wallet and my money was gone. I told the manager my money was missing. I IMMEDIATELY was treated like a liar and a thief.  The manager and another employee went and look at the tape for 30 plus minutes, The manager said there was no evidence that anyone took the money.  (He told me that was a grin on his face, almost a laugh) I let him know I would have to get the police involved. The police came. When the police came in, another manager said, "Oh yes I heard of this, the guys whose money just magically disappeared." (As I was a thief and a liar) It was a clear shot that he did not believe me and I was trying to get over on someone. They all looked at the tape again with the police.  (I have now lost my money and about 3 hours with my family)  Guess what they found?  The security guard STOLE MY $400 DOLLARS!!!!! The manager did apologize to me, but this was the same guy that made ME out to be the liar. I would also have someone look over the tapes, a man with a black hooded walked in and out of the store several times, the alarm went off and the manager just turns it off. NEVER, ever questions the guy. 


I would like to note, I had my mechanic work outfit on and I am a Hispanic male. I believe I was judged based solely on this.  The one manager in so many words said, yeah like you have $400. This is all based on feelings BUT was based on how I was made to feel by the managers.

Welcome to the Best Buy Community forums. Thanks so much for your patience in waiting for this reply. The holiday season has us a bit behind, and we're doing our best to get back to everyone as quickly as we can.


We never want someone to feel singles out because of how they dress, or because of their race. I'm sorry that we did not find the evidence on that first pass through the video, and I'd like to look more closely into this.
