PLEASE compete with Amazon more

There I was holding an open box item, it was new and remote missing batteries. I try to go to other businesses, but companies keep pushing me back to Amazon.

The BB new price was $250, new on Amazon from Sony...shipped and sold by Sony, 209. Open box in BB $210. I wanted to see it drop even a little bit and the store manager said corporate says they do not reduce open box prices. It’s not her fault so with a sigh I put the item down, opened Amazon and placed the order as I walked out empty handed.

PLEASE let me not help Amazon put you out of business and be more aggressive to move products. Even a $10 off I would have done it as if they would have worked with me in the smallest way.

Re: PLEASE compete with Amazon more

Greetings, quaglinoman!

Welcome to our forums and thank you for posting!

I appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us regarding your experience. Our Price Match Guarantee is a great way to make sure you aren’t missing out on any deals on your recent purchases.

Per the terms and conditions of our Price Match Guarantee, it states we do not price match open-box items, only new ones. Because open-box prices change from the time they are returned and by store, we cannot provide a price match. However, if we carry have the item new in the store, or online, we may be able to, as long as it qualifies. I am more than happy to review this for you.

To do so, please send me a private message with the item in question, along with a link to it on amazon, your full name, phone number, and e-mail address. To send it, click on the blue "Private Message" button next to my signature. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Kind regards,

Re: PLEASE compete with Amazon more

I'm wondering... if Amazon's price for a new item was lower than Best Buy's open box, why were asking them to match the open box item price? (I think I might know the answer, it wasn't actually sold by Amazon, which is a requirement for a price match, right?)
