New Bestbuy citi card 10% cash back as rewards - Bad customer service

I visited store for Thanks giving day purchase. Store associate said about 10% cash back for new creditcard and I applied for it for my purchase. I bought for 1350$. 

 

I got Best buy credit card after few weeks. I paid for my purchase but I coudnt find any cash back or rewards. I reached customer service and they said that some how Finance option was selected and they cant do anything. They told me to visit store to return and repurchase the product to get rewards.

 

I visited store, they said they can do but the current price of the product is diffrent and they cannot override. Again I called customer service. They said that they raised it to back end support now. REALLY FRUSTRATING

I spoke to 5 or 6 customer service reps and also I visited store to reach in person service. Nothing happened, Now just waiting for back end response. I never see such response from any retail customer service. I can say WORST

 

I bought product from store and paid for it. But I am not able to get my 10% rewards for my 1st purchase. I told store associate clearly that I am applying this card just for that attractive 10% cash back for the 1st purchase. But they are saying that they cannot help as it is financed. But I dont want that and also I repaid. 

 

I almost lost $130 and spent 2hours with customer serviece and an hour at store. Very Bad experience

You (the customer) have to manually select in the keypad if you want financing and then agree to the terms or if you want rewards instead....

Do you think this is best buys fault because they didn't read what is on the keypad, that is facing you, that you have to input information into, while you were doing it?

Hi nckhammond, I understand that you are trying to put that blame on customer.
As a customer, I clearly told to your associate at store that I am applying this card for 10% rewards program. I don’t know about these financing option at all. As I explained, If I need financing option why should I repaid in a month.

I said somehow it was missed to explain by him and all I missed to read if it is displayed somewhere. As I never used best buy card before and I just applied for it, I may missed it.

Now I tried to explain this to store and customer service. I didn’t get support. Still I can return my product.
I am trying to return and repurchase that product. No good support for anything. I can say some agents are bit rude.

Overall, I said that customer service is not good. That’s what I about to mention here.

I expect from Best Buy to understand that customer applied for store card and by mistake it was selected as finance. That not his intention and he repaid it. For this loyal customer can’t you guys help?

I agree with Nckhammond.  While I am an employee, I was a Best Buy Credit Card holder first.  The option for choosing standard financing with rewards or no interest is selected on the signature pad by the customer, not the register side.  It's the step right before you sign for the purchase.

 

With that said, once the return policy has expired there will not be a way to change it. I would encourage you to visit the store ASAP so they can re-ring it for you.  This forum will not have the ability to assist with this issue.

Hi,

Even I do agree on that Best Buy option now.

But I just signed up that day as associate explain me about that 10% rewards and I said I will go for it. May be I selected wrong option during the process. Honestly I don’t remember. He could have corrected me (Honestly, I am not complaining him for it)
My complaint is that I got Best Buy card after some weeks and I repaid full amount. There should be some option to correct that mistake. Even though, it is not as per your system. Some customer service in store (I think Manager) and agent whom I spoke over phone should understand and explain their constrains. No need to be rude
Telephone agent saying to go store. Store manager saying that they can’t help and said telephone agent just said to disconnect your call. And he suggest to go to another store where I bought. I ran here and there. All are working for Bestbuy. Just trying to stay away

Finally, Another store manager helped to return all the products and repurchase to get only 5%. If that is possible, I don’t know why some store sending me out
