Best Buy Store Purchase

So when is this going to end? I've been sitting outside the store for almost 30 minutes waiting for my order. I would have already been home by now if the standard store pickup was available.

I had to leave the store after waiting over 30 minutes and going inside to return something for a total of over 45 minutes of my time wasted. Almost 3 hours later I get a text saying someone is on the way out with my order and shortly thereafter I received an email stating my order was picked up but it was certainly not picked up by me. Either someone else wrongfully received my order and no verification was performed or there was some other kind of error.

The wait time and the end result of this is unacceptable. I was told by someone in the front of the store that in-store pickup is not available due to county regulations on the number of people in the store but the store was jammed with customers and only one person was working curbside pickup.

To be real though... Are you saying you are allowed to walk into the store to return something, but they make you wait in a car to pick up an order? This doesn't make any sense! My local BestBuy allows me to pick up orders in store. This may have something to do with your local city or state guidelines and regulations.

Yes, one can go into the store to buy something off the shelf or return something but online pickup orders are restricted to curbside only. There are county regulations on the number of people inside a building but there has to be a better way for Best Buy to handle this. I mean ONE person was working curbside pickup the day I went to the store. It took them THREE HOURS to bring my order out and of course, I was long gone thinking they would just bring the item back in when they discovered I was no longer there.

I would imagine that the online pickup is for COVID 19 reasons. Even though they are accepting returns in the store, this is done at a per customer limit and won't make lines back up at the CS counter. I think that at some stores and dont hold me to this but some counters have store pickup and customer service combined into one area.

Personally I like Next Day Delivery. Best Buy uses Shipt and not UPS or Fed Ex, basically the item is picked at the local store by a driver and brought to your house. There is a little bit of a steep but not outageous fee for this.

Got it sorted thanks to AndrewB-BBY and a manager at the store. My item is still at the store and I will pick it up on Monday. I still think an item should not be marked as "picked up" until the actual exchange with the customer is made and not when the employee goes to take it out for the curbside pickup.
