Lies and trickery

I bought a gaming pc for $750 two weeks ago and received it one week ago. It was defective. Best Buy refused to even look at what was wrong with it without charging me $100 for Geek Squad. They told me they didn’t have any more of the PC I bought, but would provide an “equivalent” at the same price. They heavily pressured and frankly bullied me into buying the replacement offered, because I need a computer for work and my only other option was to send the defective one to the manufacturer for months. They insisted I buy this “equivalent “ and told me the specs were the same or better.

This was a lie. An open, objective lie. It is not equivalent and it’s certainly not better. They didn’t allow me to view the specs on the new one and relentlessly pressured me to approve the purchase. I did so and immediately felt dread and that I’d done the wrong thing, but another individual both reassured me and also pressured me. So I left the store in tears and with a sinking feeling about the whole ordeal.

I tried to contact customer service. It’s all in the Philippines and they hung up on me, gave scripted answers, and refused to escalate me to someone who could help. Finally they told me I am not allowed to cancel the order of the computer I was lied to about.

This is without a doubt the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced — and I recently had to deal with Comcast.

Re: Lies and trickery

Good morning, Bhaigh953,

Thank you for reaching out to us here on our community forums and letting us know about your recent experience with this order. I know a new PC is a big purchase and should be an exciting event so I can imagine how disappointing it would be to encounter problems once you got it set up. It's concerning to hear about your experience at your local store and I'd like to take a closer look into this.

Did you have the opportunity to speak to a store manager during your visit? Were you trying to return this computer or had you planned to exchange it? Can you provide some more details on you were prevented from viewing the details on this replacement computer?

I'd also like to document this here at our Corporate Campus and will need some more information to do so. Can you please send me a private message that includes your:
