Keep getting the run around on my refund

Purchased a new laptop then turnaround and added a one year Geek Squad protection plan. I wa told it would extend the warranty by one year. After returning home I noticed on the receipt it didn't add a year. I called Geek Squad and was informed the warranty runs concurrent with mfgs and would cover what HP didn't not adding an additional yeasr as I was told.

 

I asked to cancel the extended warranty and for a refund to be issued. I was issued a cancelllation and confirmation number.

 

I was told my refund would be issued back to my credit card within 3 days. After 3 days I called and was told 5-7 days. After 8 days I called and was told 7-10 business days.

 

Everytime I call and talk to someone with Geek Squad I get nothing but the run around. I asked for a hard copy return receipt and was told it was emailed and would only do so one time. I checked my emails, spam and trash folders. Nothing from Geek Squad. I caled back again and was told no hard copy would be emailed.

 

I went to the store and was informed the refund should've posted within 3-5 days.

 

I'm done with Best Buy and especilly Geek Squad, they are very rude and unprofessional.

Welcome to our forums.  I know whenever I return a purchase, I hope the refund will hit my account as soon as possible, so I completely understand your disappointment with this experience.  As it sounds like you’ve been informed, the time it takes your funds to be available in your account can vary, depending on the bank or credit card company associated with the card used. 

 

If you’ve still not received a refund for your cancelled Geek Squad Protection (GSP), I’ll be happy to review your GSP further, to make sure it’s been successfully cancelled.  To do so, I’ll ask you send me a private message with a few pieces of additional information, including:

 

  • Your first and last name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • The “Customer Service PIN” located at the bottom of your receipt

 

This should be enough information for me to begin my research.  To send me this information privately, be sure to use the blue “Private Message” button in my signature.

Also, the confirmation number they issued was {removed per forum guidelines} for the geek squad warranty for $218.89.
