I saw Super Mario 3d World being sold at Warlmart for $49.97. I thought I'd be able to get a price match at BestBuy, so I went to the Woodbury, MN store to get one, but the "Manager" (I've talked to 4 managers there in as many months so they were probably just shift supervisors, and I go there quite a bit and have never seen her before) said the game was too new and there was no way it would be that price. Walmart's website shows the store is listed it for $49, but when you click on it it shows the online listing it as $59, so she refused. I showed her the picture I took from Walmart, she still refused. I offered to call and do a price check, again, she refused. Walmart was only 5 minutes away, and I went and got it from there so It's not a big deal, and this "manager" probably won't be there anymore in a few months. But I would like BestBuy to train their supervisors that price match doesn't mean pricematching exclusively on online prices, or if that's BestBuy's new policy, then explicitly state that they will not pricematch local store prices.

"Identical to the competitor's product.
The product must be a matching brand, model number and color to qualify."
Yes, it is identaical
"Immediately available at a qualifying online retailer, or a local competitor.
We match local retail competitors (including their online prices) and these qualifying online retailers: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com, Dell.com, HP.com and TigerDirect.com."
Yes, it is availible and in stock. It is kind of hard to verify the price of the local competitor if you refuse to make any attempt.
Not on it.
It's not a big deal since price matching is just my way showing loyalty to the BestBuy brand. I assumed a sale is better than no sale. Buying it from BestBuy or Walmart, makes no difference to me. But employees should be properly trained if they are in a management position.

Hey, serpentor,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing this feedback with us. Our Price Match Guarantee is a great way to save some money, and as you mentioned, show your loyalty to Best Buy. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention so that I can properly document this experience at the Best Buy Corporate Campus.
As you mentioned, it sounds like there was not much an attempt to verify whether this game qualified for a price match or not, but it sounds like that was the reason given for denying it. I'm glad to hear that you were able to pick up the game at the lower price, but sad that it could not have occurred in our Best Buy store. I do apologize for any inconvenience as a result of this.
So that I can document this feedback, please send us a private message with your full name, email, and phone number and I'm happy to help.
Best,
