I just want my money

Have tried 2 times now just trying to get my money back, Funny how when i buy something you get your money instantly, but when i refund it i have to wait days. Please stop holding my money hostage. I just want my money. I have called corporate 2 times to no avail.

It's a common misconception that retailers get the money instantly.  Maybe this is based off the fact that the money disappears from your account instantly?  No idea, but that's not how it works.

 

It's not instant...unless you bring in cash.  All other forms of payment take days to move from the source to Best Buy.  In the cash example above, if you request a refund...as long as the refund was less than $800 the money would get handed back instantly too.

 

If the return is processed, then it will go through.  Calling the customer service number will not change the processing times.

Thank you for stopping by our community forums. I know whenever I return or cancel an order, I hope to see that refund in my account as quickly as possible. I can certainly understand wanting to know exactly when this will process and I'd be glad to give you some more information on how this works.

 

Depending on the form of payment used, it can take up to one billing cycle to appear on your statement. Generally, this is available in your account sooner.

 

Did you make this return via mail? If so, it can take 7-10 business days for our return center to process this shipment.
