How to email Best Buy Corporate with a complain

There WAS a sale on the new Microsoft Surface Pro 6 with the keyboard for $799.99 which I read in their weekly sale thing that was sent to my house. I go to the store to buy it and they said its sold out. I said I kinda figured that so I asked if they could order it for me and I'll pick it up? The staff member told me nope bc it's even sold out online. I asked what that meant bc I never heard of that (heard of back ordered but nvr not even available online) So that was last weekend so today I go into another store, they told me the same thing but now they say that sale is no longer going on. I dont think it's fair to me that I went to 2 different stores and onto bestbuy.com to do the purchase but it wasnt available and now the sale is gone.

Re: How to email Best Buy Corporate with a complain

Hello, joeymagz34,

Thanks very much for joining us at the Best Buy Community forums. I know how disappointing it must be to miss out on a sale like that.

It isn't uncommon for items that are at a great price to sell out both in our stores and online. If that happens, and we later re-stock after the sale ends, we cannot honor previous pricing.

My best advice is to keep an eye on our Weekly Ad to see if we put another computer on sale for a price that works for you.

If there's anything else I can help with, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Kyle R|Social Media Specialist | Best Buy® Corporate

Re: How to email Best Buy Corporate with a complain

okay so why have bother advertising for a sale when you physically cannot buy the product? That makes ZERO sense. And actually let me correct myself, the employee at your store in East Brunswick NJ on rt 18 told me that the product with the free keyboard isn't in stock but I could purchase the surface pro 6 without the keyboard at full price of $999.99. I told the 18 yr old kid who said told me I could purchase it full price sarcastically, why would I do that, and how is BB going to tell customers they dont jave that product for sale but they have both the Surface Pro separate and the keyboard separate both in stock available to buy. I would like you to explain how both products were physically their in the store in stock but the "sale product" wasnt? It's the same exact thing! lol I'm sorry but you lost a customer for life and obviously it wont make a difference as far as sales go but just goes to show the intelligence of the Best Buy marketing team.

Re: How to email Best Buy Corporate with a complain

Good afternoon, joeymagz34,

I appreciate you taking the time to reach out with your question. KyleR-BBY isn’t currently available, so I’ll be glad to step in for him.

Products are differentiated in our systems and sales by specific models and SKUs. Each model or SKU may include different accessories, have different specifications, be a different color, or have any manor of unique attributes. Sales should be tied to specific SKUs which is why substituting a different item or series of items wouldn’t provide the sale deal. That deal would have been tied to the specific SKU that had already been sold out in your situation. I hope this clarifies why buying multiple different model numbers separately wouldn’t be the same as buying the product model that was on sale.

While I understand this answer is likely not what you wanted to hear, I hope it helped to clarify. I’m sorry to hear that you don’t want to make any future purchases with Best Buy, but if you change your mind or have questions or concerns that I can assist with here, please do feel free to reach back out.

Respectfully,

Re: How to email Best Buy Corporate with a complain

I appreciate the explanation and back when I was younger I worked in retail and understand what you are saying with different sku's but I'll reiterate, it makes no sense to be completely sold out online AND in stores meanwhile both products are sitting in the back. So now not only has the company forced me to purchase the product at PC Richard's last weekend it lost a would be loyal customer for such a moronic thing. Thank you for your explanation. Have a great day!
