Horror Story At Cross-gates Mall

I’ve recently had such a terrible experience at the best buy in crossgates mall that I now feel uncomfortable to even go back to the store and I love high tech electronics and had several purchases planned, that I now need to get somewhere else because I need it ASAP. Yesterday June 22nd 2020, at around 5:58 or somewhere like that I had a question about ink for a best buy employee. I needed to know how much ML was in a HP ink car- or at least how many pages it would print or any of that general information because I was planning to invest in a nice printer that had equally effective ink. The employee saw me standing in line and initially came at me in a very hostile manner, he proceeded to tell me “If you have a purchase to make I will not take you I’m about to get off” I stayed in line because I had a question and let him know, he said “You can stand there all you want I will walk away” at this point it had been the SECOND time someone had shooed me away so I told him “Hi I don’t have a purchase- someone actually just shooed me away saying that they wouldn’t check me out either, I have a simple question” and laughed. He said “Well yeah you’re in the wrong place for a purchase” and once again told me to leave. I asked him my printer ink question and he said “Why would I know that information if you want to know that just look it up.” I don’t have data on my phone and couldn’t do so, so I asked him “I was wondering if you could look it up on your computer for me” He said “You can easily look this up just as easily as I can”- at this point I was two employees in that was completely disrespectful - and I am a very soft spoken anxiety prone person, So I just left the store. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the employee, however he is a white male with brown long hair that was tied back and got off work at 6pm on June 24th 2020, he did not have glasses. I understand when you’re a second from getting off the clock the last thing you want to deal with is a customer which I think we can all feel on a spiritual manner- however this man did not have to be so rude and disrespectful- common human decency is all we really wanted. I think employees forget sometimes that customers are people too with emotions and things going on in their lives an do not need to feel crumby over something so small from an employee.  I work in retail and would never resort to behavior like this no matter what circumstances.

Re: Horror Story At Cross-gates Mall

Good afternoon, KrishanaMJaisarie,

Thank you for taking the time to visit our community forums. We strive to provide expert service at all of our store locations so it's very concerning to hear about your visit to our Best Buy Albany store. I'd like to make sure this information gets to the right place.

Based on your message, it doesn't sound like you had the chance to speak to a store manager. Is that correct? If not, I'd be glad to make sure they are aware of your experience.

I'd also like to document this here at our Corporate Campus. I will need some more details to do so. Can you please send me a private message that includes your:

Full name

Email address

Phone number

You can send me a private message by clicking the blue button at the bottom of this post. I'll keep an eye out for your message.
