Got an email saying my order was picked up, I was not the one who picked it up.

I bought a $300 item and had it set to in store pick up at a Best Buy that is over 16 miles away from where I live. I would’nt have been able to pick up my order until at least Saturday yet I got an email stating that my order has been picked up. My confirmation email says my ID and debit card are required to pickup so either my item was given away to someone without checking ID or someone was able to steal my identity in one day and go to this specific store to steal my item.

I’m still not able to make it to the store until Saturday. I’ve called customer service multiple times, they were no help saying the only way to resolve this is to go to the store. I’ve called the store number which goes to a call center that I guess is separate from customer service at 9AM. The person that answered said she would call the store directly and give me a call back when she finds out what’s going on. I have since gone to work and come back home without receiving a call and I’ve been on hold with the call center for an hour and a half at this point.

I will get to the store eventually to figure out what’s going on, but is there absolutely NO WAY of getting in touch with the people that actually work in the store and see if my item is still there or if they in fact gave it to some random person? It shouldn’t be this hard! I know either way I have to go to the store, but it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to check and see if the item I ordered is there. I’m afraid that the longer I wait the less likely this will be resolved and I’ll be out of my money and the item I purchased

That's super frustrating.  If you're in a hurry, you can reach the store management directly via email using the steps below.  Next time you call back, you can probably request to wait on hold for a manager if you feel you've been getting the runaround.  Hopefully, they can figure this out for you soon.

How to Contact Store Management via Email

Authorized company representatives identified with -BBY after their names are able to address specific concerns or inquiries in greater detail.

Welcome to our community, User948668.

Like you, when I make a call for assistance, I have the not unreasonable expectation that my call will be answered (hopefully promptly) and that I will get the help I need. Certainly what you've described is not any customer's ideal situation and I apologize for the complications you've encountered in having your concerns addressed.

Were you able to get the assistance you needed, either by email or by visiting the store as you had planned?
