How can an entire chain of stores be so incredibly incompetent? You guys just can't seem to handle the release of blu-ray steel books correctly. It's always the same bull. You sell a crap load via pre-orders , and then you stock very few (if any) in your actual stores. It used to be that scalpers would come into stores, buy large quantities of these items, and then sell them on eBay for exorbitant prices. Now, they simply order these items in multiples, one order at a time, and then they pick up these individual orders at different stores. If you don't believe me, please feel free to check eBay for yourselves. There is also the obvious problem that some of these scalpers either work at these stores or are connected with people who do. How else could these scalpers possibly offer pre-orders for these items on eBay? How else could they possibly have the knowledge that they would absolutely have these items on hand on the day of release? What I'm saying is that the pre-order option is an utter failure on your part. You should be able to fulfill the pre-orders and still have a considerable amount available in-store, for those who chose go that route. I, for one, am tired of being screwed over by scalpers because of your incompetence. I believe that the pre-order option should be done away with for these limited edition items, because, you obviously can't control the amount of items these scalpers buy online. Either that, or these items should no longer be limited edition. Thanks to your incompetence, I returned home, after visiting my local store, very angry and very disappointed, because I was unable to acquire this item. This is nowhere near the first time this had happened either.

It makes more sense to only stock low demand items like the Godzilla vs King Kong Steelbook online only.
If they sent a quantity to each store there is a very good chance not all would be purchased and they would have an item on the shelves for months that they cannot get rid of.
Then the frustration would be that there are none in stock at your local store but there are 4 available 200 miles away and people would get mad that they are not going to ship a single item direct from the store.
Best Buy no longer seems to carry limited edition movies in the store for just such a reason.
I am not an employee of Best Buy. All opinions and comments are my own.

Hi, Superman361976, and welcome to our online community!
Thank you for posting on our forum, although I hate to hear you weren't able to get a copy of the Godzilla vs. Kong Steelbook. In the future, pre-ordering these kinds of items may be the best way to secure your purchase. I can understand your concerns, and I'd like the chance to formally document your feedback now.
To start, please send me a private message including your full name, email, and phone number. You can find the blue option to message me to the right of my name below.

nckhammond. Since when did something as simple as buying a movie become the equivalent to winning the lottery? No, I did not pre-order it, because they can' t even handle pre-orders correctly, most of the the time. Quite often, the pre-orders are either damaged during shipping or processing, or the pre-orders are mysteriously unfulfilled. I have heard plenty of stories, from other customers, of these situations occurring many many times. So, forgive me if I don't feel that pre-ordering is as secure as you seem to think it is.

Hello, I did manage to pre-order this item back on May 14th and have yet to receive it. I searched on a few different sites like Reddit and Twitter and heard that people managed to purchase a restock that was avalable shortly after release and their copies were already recieved, granted it is the internet and you can't believe everything you read. I got an email on the day it was supposed to be released saying that my order would be canceld today if Best Buy is not able to send it out by then. It's still early in the day, so maybe it will be sent out later, but I am losing hope when I hear this. This is such a bad release by your company, and then I see scalpers on ebay and Amazon selling it for double or even triple the price.
