Gift cards for cancellation

Hello I cancelled two protection plans from Best buy after 30 days I explained that I no longer have the debit card I used because I switched my bank. I was told that I would be getting gift cards for the prorated amount. After looking at the cancellation policy I called back within two days and requested that I receive a check I did not want the gift cards I would like a check for the amount. The gentleman said that he was going to check to see if he could if that was possible and the phone got disconnected the next day in the mail I ended up with the gift cards I went to the store to exchange them and was told that I could not I am very frustrated that I cannot get my money returned would appreciate any help

Thanks for joining us at the Best Buy Community forums. I’m sorry about the issues you’ve been having getting the refund on those protection plan cancellations.

 

I’d like to check it out and see if I can find a solution. Please send me a private message, through the link in my signature, with your name, email address, phone number, and any case numbers we may have given you.

 

Please also include the Geek Squad Protection Plan numbers, and the gift card numbers (without the PIN number), if you have those available.

Hello Kyle I thank you for your desire to assist me but I had another conversation with a representative this morning and was told that I needed to call the bank I no longer have an account with so they can verify my account was closed on a three way call. I spent 6000.00 dollars when I was in the store and all I wanted is the remainder of my contract refunded. I will no longer be a customer of best buy due to this terrible experience.

I’m sorry to hear that they weren’t able to find a solution for you this morning.


There’s a chance that I can find a resolution on this, though I can’t make any promises. If you can reach out to me as I requested above, I’d be happy to review this. While contacting your former bank may be the only way to get this resolved, I’d like to see if I can find any other options.

Id like to thank you for your time. If you represent Best buy I'd like you to understand how much this truly cost me. I am a single father this refund was going to allow my son to play baseball and pay my water bill before it gets shut off. It is such a small amount but it would have made things for me and my son better. I feel Best buy has made some real violations to my rights as a consumer and am going to do everything I can to make people aware of my experience I also intend to pursue this legally.
