Get my sodastream co2 canister back?

Hello,

This is an unfortunate incident of attempted good customer service that went wrong. I'd just like to make it right.

Several months ago (May, 2020, I have a receipt) I went to best buy to exchange an empty sodastream co2 canister for a full one at the $15 refill price. I paid the $15 and gave the best buy rep my empty canister. He gave me a canister in return. Just as I was leaving, he called me back, and apologized. He had given me an empty canister by accident. They were all out of full canisters. The best buy rep told me I should check back in, because they would probably have more full canisters soon. He said they would hold on to the empty canister for me, and I should just tell them what happened.

It is now 7 months later. My local best buy has never gotten those canisters back in stock. Today they told me they have discontinued that service, and don't plan to stock the canisters anymore.

So, now best buy has taken my empty canister, and I'm looking for a way to make this right. I don't care if best buy ships me an empty canister, or charges me the appropriate $15 for a refill, both would be fine and fair, despite the hours and hours I've spent trying to remedy this. What I DON'T want is to have to spend $30 on a new canister, which would amount to best buy "stealing" from me.

I tried chatting with best buy, they gave me a phone number for best buy India support. The on the phone support said they couldn't do anything but call the local store. The local store can't do anything because they don't stock that anymore. Can't anyone do anything?

Thanks for reaching out to us about this situation. I can understand your concern here, as it sounds like you paid for a product you never received! I'm sorry to hear that those canisters never returned to stock, and I can imagine your disappointment with this.
