Hey folks, I wanted to avoid making a post concerning my frustration, but it had to be said.
I purchased a MacBook Pro on Monday October 12th, 2020, and it wasn't what I needed so I decided to return it on Saturday, October 17th, 2020. After accidentally choosing the refund check without thinking, I walk out the store and checked out the website. I found that they had what I needed, so I went back inside the store to see if I could switch it over to in-store credit. They told me they couldn't because the refund check was already being processed after me being in there for only 5 mins prior. So I decided to call the support line, and they told me they should be able to switch it to instore credit. So today October 19th I went in because it was already too late to go back in on Saturday. They told me there was nothing they could do besides email corporate. So I called the support line again, they told me to go back inside and ask if I can get a full cash refund. Person on the phone said it should be possible. But hey what do you know, I go back in the store for them to tell me they can't unless it was on the same day I made the return. But when I went back in the store on Saturday they told me they couldn't do anything. I can't wait the 2 weeks for the check to get in, I need a computer for work and I'm just frustrated. Why can't the refund process be as simple as any other place. This is making me never want to shop at Best Buy again.

We always strive to provide great service in our stores and over the phone, and I'm sorry that we let you down with this recent situation. Returns are typically provided in the format that the purchase was originally completed in, but larger cash, check, and debit purchases without a major credit card logo are returned via mail check. In most cases, once a return or refund has been processed, our stores would be unable to reverse the transaction. Our stores can also process exchanges instead of a return. Transactions that can be cancelled at the store can usually only be cancelled within a few minutes. Most mail checks from store returns are received within 10-14 business days, however, at longest it may take up to 6 weeks (particularly if the check is being mailed to a remote area). This time frame is largely transit time through the mail. We wouldn't have a way to further expedite the arrival of the check, but I hope that it arrives to you, soon.
