Best Buy did not knowingly sell you a defective tv, regardless of brand or retailer you bought it from this is always going to be a possibility. Defective products happen, that's why the Manufacturer's Warranty exists. It is also why Best Buy offers Geek Squad Protection, for when you want more time/coverage than a manufacturer provides. Manufacturers do not test 100% of items form 100% of possible defects as that is cost prohibitive, retailers like Best Buy don't break the seal of new items to test them because 1. Its cost prohibitive for us as well and 2. most customers want to break that brand new product seal themselves.
I'm honestly not sure what you're expecting.
