Formal Complaint

I will never step foot inside another Bestbuy store or place an order online ever. I purchased an 70-inch LG television from BestBuy and in 4-months I need the ENTIRE front panel display replaced which was explained buy a Service Technician that the manufacturer LG sent to my home this afternoon. Completely unacceptable and absolutely dismayed that Bestbuy would even sell me a defective product.

I wouldn't either, because I'm sure BestBuy manufactured that LG TV themselves out of parts they new were defective and didn't offer you their extended warranty at checkout because they knew it would stop working in 4 months.....

Best Buy did not knowingly sell you a defective tv, regardless of brand or retailer you bought it from this is always going to be a possibility.  Defective products happen, that's why the Manufacturer's Warranty exists.  It is also why Best Buy offers Geek Squad Protection, for when you want more time/coverage than a manufacturer provides.  Manufacturers do not test 100% of items form 100% of possible defects as that is cost prohibitive, retailers like Best Buy don't break the seal of new items to test them because 1. Its cost prohibitive for us as well and 2. most customers want to break that brand new product seal themselves.


I'm honestly not sure what you're expecting.

Since you're having LG repair this television for you, please continue to work with them so that they can take a closer look into this for you and see what options they can provide to assist.  Best Buy would be unable to assist you with the repairs, or the technicians, that LG uses.
