False advertisement

Today I spent an hour and half in the Kankakee Illinois store looking to purchase a new to and entitlement system. The committee customer support and the site was extremely helpful and knowledge about the products and helped me to pick out the perfect combination of products. I picked out the TCL - 65" Class - LED - 6 Series - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD TV with HDR Roku TV and the Polk Audio - 2.1-Channel Soundbar System with 6-1/2" Subwoofer and Digital Amplifier - Black. Everything was going great till I went to pay for the products and I was informed the TV was unavailable and the were unable to get it.

I don't understand how best buy can a product that they can't provide? I literally wasted my time in that store for nothing. I mean for a store that is competing with Amazon your not making it hard for people to walk away from your business. I would like an explanation to this because the associate in the store that was helping me had no answer for this.

Many of our displays are vendor provided and must be on display regardless of current availability. There are a number of reasons why a television may become unavailable, and unless the television was marked as clearance this is most likely a temporary situation. In fact, product availabilities can change rapidly as all stores have the ability to sell items out of their store, neighboring stores, as well as the warehouse. It’s not uncommon for replenishment shipments to be delayed by manufacturers which can defeat even the very best demand planning.

In instances like that, my recommendation is to partner with the local store management and see if a deal can be reached on a substitution. That way you still get a great deal and it validates the time spent in store was worthwhile.

Thanks for joining the Best Buy Community forums. I'm sorry that we weren't able to get that TV for you.

 

Inventory can move very quickly. Sometimes a TV can be available when you start working with someone, but sell out ion the meantime. It doesn't happen often, and I apologize it did here.

 

Do you recall the exact model number on that television? We have couple models that fall within that description, so I'd like to confirm that to see if I can find out what's possible for you.
