Failure to "make it right"

I purchased an open box dishwasher and when the Best Buy guys were loading it into my truck, they broke off a wheel.  The guy asked, "Do you still want it?" I said no, that was not acceptable. "Well, then you can return it," which is what I did. I was so disappointed because it had all the features I was looking for for a great price. There was zero attempt to make it right - not an offer of an additional discount on the appliance they damaged, or offering an additional discount on a new appliance, or anything.  It was just "sorry about that." Does Best Buy care at all about treating its customers right?

Re: Failure to "make it right"

Hello, kellymsjpa,

Thank you for joining our community to share your experience with us! Purchasing a new dishwasher can be stressful. We’re sorry to hear that yours was damaged upon getting it loaded. We’d be happy to see how we may be able to help.

Have you check out our open-box items available on BestBuy.com? Additionally, did you discuss your concerns with a leader on duty at your local Best Buy? Typically, in these kinds of situations the open-box item would need to be re-evaluated by Geek Squad to determine it’s worth given the new damage. We’re sorry if noting that you didn’t want it any longer, that no alternative options weren’t presented to you. Can you please share which store this occurred at? We’d be happy to partner with your local Best Buy to discuss the options available at this time. Please send us a private message with your full name, phone number, email address, and the customer service pin off your purchase receipt. A private message can be sent to us by choosing the blue “Private Message” button in my signature.

Respectfully,
