Failed Authorization" - Amount disappeared from gift card

I got two bestbuy gift cards from of my employer as part of applause program and I gave it to my friend to redeem the gift cards at one of the best buy stores(Bellevue).

My friend tried to place an order using 2 gift cards(on 21st Oct at Bellevue store), one of them worth $100, failed authorization. The balance was supposed to be back within 24 hrs according to the FAQ and it still shows $0 to this point. Please help me in restoring the balance to the gift card.
