I recently purchased a replacement cartridge for my printer from Best Buy. I brought it home and put it in my printer, but the printer wouldn't recognize the cartridge. Before you ask, it was the correct one. I checked the HP number before I went to buy it. I needed it quickly, so I bought the same cartridge from a store closer to me. When I tried to return the defective cartridge, I was told I couldn't return it because it was opened. How in the hell was I suppose to know it was defective BEFORE I opened it. I have just lost $50. Now I'm considering ending any relationship with this company because what happens with something more expensive. I can find the same products closer to home. I have been a customer and rewards member for over 15 years. If the company sells defective merchandise and doesn't stand behind it, what use is the company.

Good Afternoon Dragon59,
Ink is never a fun thing to have to run to the store for. Thank you for choosing Best Buy for your purchase. We’re sorry to hear that one the that you had picked up turned out to be defective. We understand that can could’ve thrown a wrench into your plans.
We’d highly recommend reaching out to HP directly on this matter. They’d be best positioned to assist you moving forward. As you can understand since Best Buy doesn’t manufacturer the ink cartridge, we would’ve been just as unaware as you were that it was defective. Our Return & Exchange Promise does clearly state that open ink isn’t able to returned under our Final Sale and Nonreturnable Items Special Consideration. Please let us know if you have any further questions about our Return & Exchange Promise.

This is why I'm considering not purchasing anything else from Best Buy. What else am I going to buy that your company won't support. I don't go to a store to have to go to the manufacturer if I purchase somthing that is faulty. If you can't stand behind the products that you sell, then you aren't worth my time and effort to purchase anything at your stores.
