Defective TV - Need to Exchange

Hello,

A few days ago I purchased an LG 65" OLED TV online and picked it up from my local Best Buy in Fort Lauderdale. Today we opened it to mount it on the wall, and while doing so, we saw large white "smudges" on the screen, which worried us but assumed could be wiped away. Later we got the bad news that the smudges were actually defects under the screen that could not be wiped away (see image below).

So, we'd like to return the TV and exchange it for a new one. However, we don't have access to a big enough vehicle right now that we used to pick up the TV, so we'd like to schedule a Best Buy delivery + pickup to do the exchange. Would this be possible (even with an extra charge)? What's the best way to get this arranged?

Thank you!

Re: Defective TV - Need to Exchange

That would be possible - you can either call the 1-888-BestBuy number to set that up or go in to your local store to set up the in-home exchange. Depending on how far you are from the store there may or may not be a charge for it - a lot of stores have a free delivery area so you could be within that. But yeah, they'll be able to assist you with that.

Thanks @geishafish I'll probably head over to the store soon and see what they say.

However I still hope a Best Buy moderator chimes in to confirm that this should work out ok, or could help facilitate it.

Re: Defective TV - Need to Exchange

Good afternoon, BrendanS,

Welcome to our community forum. Having a smaller car myself I know I wouldn't be able to transport most TVs. I'd be glad to give you some more details on how you can get help with this. As geishafish mentioned, your local store should have no problem creating an exchange that includes delivery of a new TV. You can also give our phone agents a call at (888) BEST-BUY or (888) 237-8289. Please let us know if we can further assist you!
