Damaged Stove delivered cannot get exchanged

I bought a new gas stove at my local Best Buy on 2/6, it arrived damaged. I initially elected to have it replaced, but later decided to replace it with a more expensive model. After working with overseas support for (honestly) about 2 hours over several calls, now I am told the original damaged stove cannot be returned. I’m very frustrated. What can I do?
