Were you requesting a price match, or simply asking for a discount "just because" you can go somewhere else if they refuse? If that's the case, I'm sorry, but a good manager could, and should tell you to go ahead. Customer service is not the same as allowing people to bully you and your employer. Does this tactic work for you often?
