Customer experience

Greetings I recently visited the store in mentor Ohio , and was looking to purchase a ge washer and dryer package . I was looking to purchase from Best Buy due to my past experiences, but this recent experience made me feel like I was not even a customer . I am a first responder and asked the mgr Mercedes if she was willing to due a 10 % discount and I would purchase from Best Buy . She basically told me in not so many words or less that she would not offer me a discount , and it felt like the take it or leave it attitude. I told her that I would probably go purchase at Home Depot instead of Best Buy and she said " go ahead ". I didn't realize business was that outstanding from the way the empty store looked that a mgr could just throw away a sale . I probably won't shop at Best Buy again because I felt like business didn't matter . Well thanks for your attention in this matter

Re: Customer experience

Hey there, Chris82773,

Welcome to our community! Thank you for taking the time to connect with our team, and for sharing your experience with us here. I can understand wanting to see what may be possible to get the best pricing on your appliances. While we would not be able to accommodate that request, please know that we do offer our Price Match Guarantee should you find the same model at a lower price with an authorized retailer.

I truly appreciate your feedback regarding this! If you have any other questions or concerns that I may be able to assist with at this moment in time, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Best Regards,

Re: Customer experience

Were you requesting a price match, or simply asking for a discount "just because" you can go somewhere else if they refuse? If that's the case, I'm sorry, but a good manager could, and should tell you to go ahead. Customer service is not the same as allowing people to bully you and your employer. Does this tactic work for you often?

Re: Customer experience

"Bullying " is not a tactic I was using , I was asking the store if they would be competitive to get my business, isn't that what's best for the consumer is competition ? That's what keeps prices reasonable and affordable for the blue collar worker. The Big Box stores take advantage of the consumer with their pricing tactics, they buy products for pennies on the dollar compared to what a private store owner can buy for . So your "good mgr " line lost a sale that could of help bring more business in .
