Corporate Complaint Request for Discriminatory Employee Service

Good afternoon,

I had an 11:40am appointment on 9/18/2020 with the Geek Squad at 2375 N. Tustin Ave, Orange, CA 92865. I arrived early for the appointment and was acknowledged by Tatiana to sit and wait since appointments were running late. A male Geek Squad member can out and went passed myself and my wife to service another woman first. After that, he went to speak to the woman in the last seat. As he was approaching the last woman, I stated “Excuse me, we had an appointment.” He proceeded to inform us he needed to reschedule the other lady first. After rescheduling the lady, he walked past us to the computers and went to back room. He chose not to acknowledge us or what type of appointment we had. He also chose to ignore us for the entire time we were there.

My complaint is that he chose to acknowledge the Caucasian females and ignore my wife and myself. This lack of service made me feel unseen as a queer person of color. I was denied proper service due to my skin color and appearance. I emailed the store directly but wanted relay this experience to Corporate because the selective action taken by this associate is prejudice. I have been buying from Best Buy for years and wanted equal customer service. To be purposely ignore based on color is discrimination.

Please acknowledge that this complaint is forwarded to Corporate as this discrimination needs to be addressed. I hope this employee can receive further training on customer service and inclusion.

While I wish your visit to our Support Forums were under more fortunate circumstances, I do appreciate you taking the time to join our Community to share your experience with us.  Regardless of the reason for your visit, we hope all our customers will have a positive experience throughout their time at any of their local Best Buy stores, so it’s disappointing to hear your time at our East Orange, CA store did not meet our expectations.  I apologize for the frustration this experience has undoubtedly caused.
