Computer Monitor Fraudulently Picked Up Via Curbside Pick Up

We recently purchased a computer monitor for our company to accomodate working from home due to COVID precautions. I arrived at Bestbuy and let the store know I was there, and after 15 minutes the Bestbuy employee informed me I was, in fact, at the wrong Bestbuy. No problem. She informed me it would be set aside with a note and an ID and number would be needed to pick it up, so it was in fact safe and I would not need to call. Within 30 minutes of me clicking "I'm at the store", on my way to the correct store someone had stolen it. I've now been waiting on the phone to speak to anyone for an hour. The website, e-mail, instructions, and advertising of in-store pick up repeatedly requires a state or nationally issued ID to pick up the item. Clearly, the error rests on the BestBuy employee who either gave it without following the required ID, or an employee decided to claim it for themselves. Furious doesn't begin to describe it when your purchased property is stolen, handed out by the company you paid for it and entrusted the security of the item, and then requires you to wait for hours on the phone, to file a police report, and directing you online and vice-versa. I paid for the item, and the fact I have not received it lies in the actions of BestBuy and it's employees.

Had I known purchasing curbside at BestBuy would be that insecure with any expense of items, I would never have used it to begin with. I'll file a police report once BestBuy proceeds to take our money but fails to provide the item we purchased.

I use store pickup quite often so I can imagine your surprise to discover that your order was picked up before you had arrived at the store.
