Complaint regarding west hollywood salesperson and manager

[ Edited ]

The west Hollywood store salesperson NICOLAS {removed per forum guidelines} LIED TO ME AND MADE ME ORDER Whirlpool 21.4 Side-by-Side Refrigerator on Aug 3 that best buy DID NOT HAVE, telling me he had direct connection with whirlpool and he could have them send it to me and made me SIGN UP for a credit card too.
I kept waiting for 2 weeks and when i called customer service on Aug 17 they had no idea of this situation.
West hollywood store manager FRANCISCO {removed per forum guidelines} refused to give me any email or number to file a complaint and canceled my order.
They are scamming customers to order products that are not available and making them sign credit cards to get commissions.

Where can i file an official complaint?

I don't understand how this is even possible....

To order the item it would have to be in the computer as available at the time

No one can make you sign up for a credit card....

Re: Complaint regarding west hollywood salesperson and manager

He made me sign up for a credit card to avail offer for purchasing the refrigerator that wasn't in stock. He said he could talk to whirlpool and have it delivered.

When i called geek squad 2 weeks later for this they had no clue how he sold something that was never there. If i hadnt called i would just be waiting for it to arrive.

The manager is the worst. Rude and refused to give me any email address or number to compliant.

I called 1800BESTBUY all they said was give feedback through website which has no record or paper trail of filing the complaint.

I need an email address to file a complaint.

Re: Complaint regarding west hollywood salesperson and manager

There is not an email address, this forum would be the proper place to get assistance. The wait time is approximately 5-6 days as the moderators assist the customers ahead of you. They work out of corporate and assist with things like this.

With that said, I’m right there with nckhammond. I have no idea how they would make you do any of the things mentioned. Strongly encourage, maybe. But make? No idea how that would even work.

As for ordering an appliance right now, manufacturers are missing deadlines right and left. We order an appliance, it gives us a date. That date is ordinarily very accurate but COVID-19 has caused these dates to go right out the window. If the warehouse doesn’t receive the item from the manufacturer on the date promised, it misses its scheduled trip from that warehouse to the store and in turn, delays the delivery.

Lastly, with appliances the term in stock is kinda moot. Especially on odd sizes, colors, etc. No reason to stock an item that one out of 100,000 even likes. Our system checks availability on the item from the manufacturer and every target date is based off of that. I can guarantee the item was not marked “out of stock” if the employee was able to place an order in the first place.

Hope this helps.

Re: Complaint regarding west hollywood salesperson and manager

Are you telling me that best buy doesn't have any email to give a formal complaint? What if its a more serious issue?

That seems very convinient to have no paper trail. How many people will actually sign up and post on a forum. It took me two weeks to find a solution before i got to know of this forum.

Yes "made me" because he told me the product was available (when it wasn't) and said he could talk to the manufacturer and get it deliverd. And said if i signed up for a credit card i could avail an offer. So yes made me buy something that wasn't there at the first place!!! Otherwise i would have gone to another store and bought it.

So the whole system is incorrect? Basically i am buying an item that best buy may or may not have!!! Why misguide the custmer. Just tell that upfront that there is a possibility that you may never get the item and i will go ahead and buy from a store that is honest.

Re: Complaint regarding west hollywood salesperson and manager

This forum vastly supersedes the basic nature of an email address, it has a “paper trail”, and it connects you with corporate. If you wish to keep things private, you can wait until the moderators reply your post and share those things privately. They work at corporate and handle issues big and small. There is nothing magical about having an email address, i have 5 between work and personal addresses. It is merely a tool to connect you with a person or team, that is what this forum also offers along with collaborative responses and issue tracking that greatly assists with resolving issues.

The appliance was marked as available, else it wouldn’t have allowed him to order. I mentioned above how that happens, no need to re-explain it here.

Any time you can say no, you were not “made” to do something. “No, I don’t want to order it.” “No, I don’t want to sign up for a Best Buy Card.” Again, you might have been encouraged to do so, to take advantage of financing or the like. It sounds like there was a promotion that required a Best Buy Credit Card but it was not mandatory.

I’ll actually agree with eBay buy here. The person encouraging you to sign up for a CC couldn’t of made you do it.
