Change financing option after purchase?

Hey guys,

 

I screwed up on two purchases recently where it defaulted to financing rather than points. Is it possible to retroactively change this? I've already paid the balance on my BB card...so the financing was super unnecesary.

Welcome to the forum!  There are some pretty awesome financing offers available to cardholders of the Best Buy Credit Card, and depending on the amount of your purchase, you can earn a notable amount of My Best Buy™ reward points, too.  I’m sorry to hear you may have selected a different plan than intended at the store for a few of your recent purchases.

 

Generally speaking, a financing plan is locked in once it's selected at the register.  If you've already paid off your balance, it's unlikely you'd be able to retroactively change your financing plan.  That said, while I can't guarantee a particular outcome, you're welcome to reach out to Citibank, N.A.—the issuer of your Best Buy Credit Card—and discuss your account in more detail at (888)-574-1301.

This is the dumbest policy ever.  I tried to change from financing to points within an hour of purchase and they wouldn't let me.  The item wasn't even shipped!!!  Talk about poor customer service, god forbid someone makes the wrong choice when checking out, you cannot change it even a second after purchase!!!

Why did you not select the correct one, first? It can only be your issue for not selecting the correct one, Best Buy has limited leeway for changing orders especially during this pandemic.

 

If the order is not able to be cancelled, you can buy a new one at the correct option and return the other one once you get it in posession.
