horrible return experience, hope to find corporate contact info.

I've purchased the iphone 7 plus from local bestbuy store in Monrovia, CA on Jan 1, 2017. When i was buying the phone, i asked the rep at the store, can i have the unlock one, its gonna be used overseas. Im buying this for my dad as new year gift. So do you have unlock phone? The rep replied after check the inventory, yes we have a last  Iphone 7 plus jetblack color 128G. and its unlocked. So i added, is your unlock same as if i buy from Apple store? i bought one before and it worked perfectly fine in China. He said yes, its the same unlock. Ok i ended up paying near 1K for the phone. 2 days later my dad got the phone, he was so happy to transfer all his photos and stuff from old phone to the new one. Unfortunatelly after few tries, the phone cant not be activated for some reason. He went to the local phone store to check why, they recommend he goes to Apple store directly and find out. As soon as the apple store in Beijing checked it, he was told the phone is locked, cant be used in China base on the series number.

He called me and we finally decided to bring it back and try to return it. I got the phone on the 20th of Jan. I took the phone and receipt back to local store, and asking for return. After they checked everything and asked me why i want to return,  i told that what happend, one of the guys told me i have to use verizon or att sim card to activate the phone first and then use the China sim card to continue to use. i was so shock, because the guy trying to sold me the phone, didnt mention 1 thing about it. If i knew this is what's gnna happen, i wouldnt even consider to pay that much money to deal with it. At the store, they checked the receipt, i passed the 14 days of return time. they cant returned it, i asked for manager, and got the same feedback. NO RETURN.

i felt hopeless, call the 1888 number, they only deal with online purchase, no help either. Can anyone help me at this point? its a large amount purchase, and no mention about the time, energy and efforts to spend on this, can i have the phone return and get full refund?

thanks for reading

I bought an unblocked S7 edge and it blocked

Hi

I bought an unblocked Samsung S7 edge on a Best buy store in Clearwater. I traveled back to Argentina and after about 6 months it blocked and I can't use it anymore.

I talked with Samsung and they told me that I have to talk with Best buy to solve it.

Please help!

Re: I bought an unblocked S7 edge and it blocked

Best buy doesn't have a way to block or unblock phones. That would be the carrier.

Re: I bought an unblocked S7 edge and it blocked

Thanks. But when I talk to Samsung they say me that is something that has to be handled with the seller (Best Buy). When I talk with my current carrier they say me that they don't have anything to do because the phone wasn't bought to them because it was bought unlocked (which makes sense).

Wrong information received to buy an iphone 7 in BestBuy 295

[ Edited ]

Dear Sir.

I have been trying by different ways to solve a problem and have no solution for weeks!

I live in Peru and visited Columbus OH for a conference meeting 3 months ago. I visited the BB 295 in Morse Rd looking for an ARLO Camera and decided to buy also a iPhone 7 since the seller explained me that it would function in my country (PERU) and that if I had a problem I could visit the official representatives of Apple in my country.  As soon as I arrived to my country, some days later, I realised that my iphone was not working. I visited several of the ishops in my country and obtained different answers (they were not sure what was needed to do). I assumed that I had lost my money ($799.99). A friend of mine living in Washington DC suggested to contact you. But first she went to her local Best buy and obtained no reply and was suggested to go to an Apple store. Then , at the Apple store, she was suggested to contact the original Best Buy store al Morse Rd. I have been trying to contact this store by cellphone and email. Unfortunately, I have no solution to this.

I have not the opportunity to use the 14 days of return period since I was travelling and then the local stores didnt know how to help me.

I would have not bought this cellphone if I knew it was not going to function in Peru. The seller gave me a wrong information and I trusted him and your store.

I would appreciate to obtain a solution to this. My email is (removed per forum guidelines)

I can send the iphone back if necessary. I paid with my peruvian VISA credit card.

Sincerely,
