I bought the iphone from BestBuy as an unlocked iphone last year and was using with a SIM card purchased from H2O wireless. While I bought the phone as an unlocked device, now it is locked under AT&T network. I called the AT&T several times but they could not unlock the device because I don't have an AT&T account. I also called H2O wireless, which the reseller of the SIM I was using, and apple store, and they said that they cannot unlock the phone. For your information, I have returned to my home country a few weeks ago, so I cannot go to a local store in-person. I wonder how I can unlock the phone or if I can exchange the phone internationally.

good morning i bought an iPhone X, just over a year ago on the buy FULL PRICE basis, and used it normally. I am recently living in Brazil, but the phone is listed as blocked by T-mobile, to unlock it, the operator asked me for the invoice, but I no longer have it! is it possible that you send me a duplicate?

Hello,
I bought my iPhone 11 Pro Max at BestBuy in 2019. Then, now I return to my country (Jordan) and I can’t use any sim card. I contact my carrier Xfinity mobile and they can’t unlock it for me as I didn`t buy it through them so I have to contact the seller then.
However, on that day when I want to buy this iPhone, I said that I need to make sure that it`ll can be unlocked and staff assured me I can use this phone worldwide after 60 days as I have paid the amount in Full, and literally the best buy man showed me the policy for unlocking iPhone "Xfinity is from Verizon and according to their website, after 60 days you can use it........" but NOW IT CAN’T. I don’t want to spend almost $1500 for using iPhone only in the US and staff literally assured me it will be unlocked.
I try to contact Xfinity and they said they can`t and need to contact Best Buy. Does anyone have a similar situation?
What am I supposed to do? I would really appreciate it if you take a look at this issue and I would be grateful if you will let me know as soon as possible. You can contact me by {removed per forum guidelines}

Hello,
So I bought 2 iPhone XS Max in October 2018 for me and my girlfirend and they were supposed to be Factory Unlocked. Then after couple months I lost my phone and got a replacement device through Apple Care. Fast forward today, I am travelling in the Netherlands and apparently our phones are SIM/Carrier locked. (My gf did not get replacement device, it was only me)
Key Facts:
- I stopped by Apple Store Amsterdam and have them check it and they confirmed that it was LOCKED THROUGH T-MOBILE
- So I called T-MOBILE and asked but they said THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT BECAUSE 1st: I BOUGHT IT FROM BESTBUY, 2nd: I HAVE NEVER USED T-MOBILE SIM
- My original carrier, or at least the first SIM I inserted my phone was from MINT.
- I called BestBuy but the representatives know nothing about it. 2 guys I have been in call with both said they COULDN'T DO IT
Now Apple Store, Mint, T-Mobile,or BestBuy can't help me and I am stuck with unusable iPhones abroad.
WHY WOULD BESTBUY LOCK PEOPLE'S PHONES?
WHAT IS THE POINT OF PAYING $1360 FOR "FACTORY UNLOCKED" PHONE IF IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK ABROAD?
I NEED SOLUTION.

Hey, sorry it has been a while since you posted it but have you figured a way out?
I am in the Netherlands and have exactly the same issue. BestBuy is not reachable. If you have figured a way out, how did you do it?

I bought an iphone xr 64gb from BestBuy at Queens Bvld on 03/06/2019 Paying Full price to them and they confirmed it to be working through out the world at any gsm carrier and unlocked. it says SIM NOT SUPPORTED.. really disappointed. also i just saw its very common problem with many people who have bought the phone from BESTBUY as they mislead it to be unlocked. And still practicing the same policy. WE DONT HAVE BESTBUY IN brazil and under no cirumstances i can ship it back to USA. please solve the problem.. as soon as possible.

I bought an iPhone in 2019 at Best Buy and the seller told it was unlocked and working IN ANOTHER COUNTRY! The phone was present and now the person is unable to use it due to the lock! It is a lack of respect with the customer who trusted the salesperson's word! How should I proceed? I have the receipt here but the phone is in Brazil! I contacted apple, and they said that only the best buy can unlock! How to solve this situation?
