I am honestly sorry if a miscommunication in our store caused you to have incorrect expectations that this phone would work in Argentina. It is correct that we sell Universal iPhone 7 phones that are unlocked to any carrier in the U.S., but these phones will not work outside the U.S. The best I can suggest is to return the phone to us by either returning to the U.S. or by sending the phone to someone in the U.S. who will then return it to one of our stores. I realize both options might not be possible for you, but those really are the only two options we can provide you. I am also sending you a private message with additional details. It is usually whoever's fault...isnt they should pay for the fault?
What is Bestbuy doing other than accepting mistake made by their store managers. Looking at multiple threads on this topic, from multiple best buy locations, obviously it wasnt an error on store manager side. It was incorrect policy in place which bestbuy were not aware of and not they dont want to take responsibility for money paid by customers.

I bought an unlocked iphone 7 a few days back and the phone is not working in India. I called the best buy support and they said they can't help me unless i bring the phone back from India within 15 days of purchase. Feeling cheated and extremely disappointed.

I apologize that you are experiencing issues with your new iPhone 7 and that you feel disappointed with your purchase. As you may have seen, there have been a myriad of posts on our Forums regarding iPhone 7's being used outside of the United States, and the response has generally been the same.
Products purchased at Best Buy stores or BestBuy.com are intended to be used within the United States. The iPhone 7 you purchased is "universal," meaning it should work on any US carrier, but is unlikely to work outside of the US. Additionally, Best Buy does not have the means to unlock cell phones, seeing as this is a service only offered by certain cell phone carriers.
Per our Return & Exchange Promise, your phone may be returned within 14 days of purchase. Please know that Best Buy does not accept returns mailed from outside the US, so you would need to send it to someone here to mail it in on your behalf.

Did best buy not offer a solution to anyone ? Everyone basically lost 800 $ becuase of the best buy staff's negligence ?

that is the risk of buying electronics when traveling overseas.
the atraction of a lower price comes at a cost, and you are now paying that cost.
certainly bb will not help you, and the apple warranty requires return to them in the country that it was purchased (only their telephone support is 'international').
if you have a friend in the US then I suggest you ship it to them with a copy of the receipt to return to the BB store and never shop at BB again.

Hi,
Last October 30 a relative of mine bought an Iphone 6S at Best Buy store.
According to the salesman, it was supposed to be unlocked to be used in Argentina.
Nevertheless, when I try to active the cellphone in Argentina appears a message saying that the SIM card is not available because it is not supported by the activation server.
Do you know how can I get it unlocked?
