Troca

Hello, I come through this email expressing my dissatisfaction with a purchase made at your store in Orlando. I bought an apple watch series 3, and the seller assured me it was a new watch because I know the company's open box sales system. But I emphasized my desire to buy a NEW! So much so that I was charged the value of a new one, the box came sealed, and the watch with the plastic. However, the moment I opened my watch, already in Brazil, a message appeared about resetting the old settings, making me believe that the device was already opened and used. I will attach some images that can prove what I am talking about. As a consumer I felt injured, because I was informed that the device was new, nothing in the box identifies it with open box. would you like what the company can do in this case I felt stolen. I paid for a new product and brought a used one.

Am I tricked?

Best Buy store - #413 (Portage, MI)
Date & Time - 11/23/19 17:26

I bought these two items...
1. Universal iPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB
2. Universal iPhone 11 Pro 256GB
with a total of $2544.98 including sales tax ($144) and a dollar to St. Jude donation.

While I was buying this, I did mention that these were to ship to ANOTHER COUNTRY, Myanmar (Burma).

Today is December 9 (Monday), I got a phone call from Myanmar that the SIM card is invalid when trying to activate the phone. I visited the Best Buy store number, the first thing I was told is to contact apple because that is beyond their responsibility. So I revisited another employee and he told me that the Best Buy universal iPhones cannot be used in other countries except inside U.S. and some Chinese networks and that it cannot be returned now because it’s already over 14 days.

I am really upset that this happens to me. Now, I have used over $2,500 and a pair of two iPhones that CANNOT BE EVEN USED!

I just want to return them, if possible!!! If anybody can reply me, that would be great!

Re: Am I tricked?

They should be able to buy a SIM Card in Burma.  SIM Cards are dependant on the cell carrier.  I understand the phones are 'unlocked', but that means you can pick any carrier you want.  With that being said, the new carrier will issue a SIM Card for you to insert into your phone.

I deal with SIM Cards all the time in my line of work.

Re: Am I tricked?

These phones are not “unlocked” as haung mentioned in their post, these are Universal SKUs meant to be activated on one of the major US networks and not intended for use outside of the US. Unfortunately, outside of a return policy I’m not sure what can be done. A moderator should be by within a few days to provide an official response.

Re: Am I tricked?

Verbiage or not, the information isn't correct.  It will lock to the first US carrier whose SIM is inserted into the device.  Other SIMs will not activate the phone.

Re: Cell Phones Bought for International Use at Best Buy
