My husband went today to Best Buy West Edmonton to buy an ACER ED273 ABIDP monitor for $269.99. In the signage and the Best Buy website you can read that is a G-sync monitor but when he came back home, the monitor is not G-sync, is Free-sync. We decide to go back to the store to complain but once we were there, the department manager offered us a G-sync for $550 or wait for another g-sync out of stock for $400; they also took off the signage when I was taking to them.
That is not in by budget so I refused. On my way out of the store with my free-sync monitor I decided that I was not happy with the answer that this gentleman gave me and I went back. I got a very bad surprise when I found the signage saying G-sync by the monitor again. That means for me that they know the product is not accomplishing the requirements displayed on the signage and they do not care.
After that, the manager told me that takes some time to fix the website but the paper tag could be fixed using a sharpie.
He finally offered me $50 discount on the free-sync that I, of course, refused.
I´m really upset with this situation so I´m managing to communicate this to the Canadian Competition Bureau for misleading advertising.

Welcome to our community. Like you, I heavily rely on the specifications provided by a retailer online or in-store when making a purchase. I'm sure I would be equally dismayed if I were to discover I bought a product that was missing features which I was in the market for.
