COMPLAIN

I went into Best Buy to purchase a new computer. I was asked what I needed and they took me to a gaming system. The salesman informed me that my current monitor would work well with my new CPU that I just spent $1300 on and that I'd be fine.

 

First time taking it home, my monitor doesn't even FIT the CPU. I called and no one could help me, so they sent me to GEEK SQUAD who informed me to purchased an adaptor, in which I did. Got the monitor to work but now when you go to any game, the monitor won't support the resolution. 

 

I reached out to Best Buy multiple times until they finally sent me off to the manufacturer. Once I reached out to them, they informed me that the salesman should\ve known that the monitor wouldn't have worked with that CPU due to such high graphics and that he was shocked that they weren't aware of that considering that BEST BUY was selling their products. Did I mention the USB port since day 1 didn't work, either? Again, instructed to send it to the manufacturere's attention. So, I bought a brand new CPU that in under 30 days has not been able to be used for it's intended purpose only to be informed that all the run around that Best Buy gave me has put me past my 14 day grace period to return this useless item. 

 

I just wanted a computer to work..I thought it was user error...only to find out that even with Best' Buy's solution, it would\ve never worked in the first place. So, I reach out via chat, this time, only to be told that because I never obtained a reference number to my phone calls to the store that there's no proof of there ever being an issue. 

 

All I was asking was for the return policy to be pardoned due to Best Buy misinforming me of my purchase as well as sending me all over your support services, tech services, and manufacterer's services that prolonged me being able to return this item. I still have all the original packaging, boxes, and even the stickers on it~!! I've not been able to use it!!!

Welcome! It's always great to purchase a new computer, so I can imagine how excited you were to purchase a computer that worked with your monitor. It sounds like things didn't quite go as planned, as once you were able to connect the monitor, your games didn't work as expected. 

It sounds like you did quite a bit of troubleshooting between contacting Geek Squad and the manufacturer. To ultimately find this computer won't work for your needs would be understandably disappointing. Beyond our Return & Exchange Promise, we would be unable to return or exchange the computer. I know this may not be the news you were hoping for, and would like to see what other options we may have for you. Good to see everyone is on the same page of terrible customer service. I’ll take this to the BBB, then. This is absolute disgust. Won’t be long until amazon takes you guys out. #ToysRUsFuture #ByeByeBestBuy
