Broken tv

My boyfriend bought me a tv for xmas on dec. 23. I recently moved into new place and opened tv to put up and turned it on and there was a crack in the screen. Stickers were still on. We had receipt etc. Box intact no big deal. The tv was a 32 in amd $250. Figured best buy wld just take back old one and give us new one. My bf brought it down to plymouth massachusetts location where he bought it and basically they said tough luck. The manager was so rude and dismissive to him. We couldnt believe it. We bought a tv, it was delivered to us damaged and now they say tough luck. My bf was so mad, as was i. You are a multimillion dollar company and u send us a broken $250 samsung tv and wont replace it and are rude to us because we are justifiable upset. Horrible horrible customer service. I have the emails of purchase that i am happy to semd along to someone. Please make this right.

As this TV would be outside the extended holiday return and exchange period (which ended on January 14), the next step would be to explore options under any protection plans you may have purchased on the device. Outside of this, options for support are very limited due to the age and kind of damage you're seeing to the unit. We encourage all of our customers to inspect new devices and appliances as soon as possible after making a purchase to allow for the best support experience.

Well it was given to me as a gift and i was unaware. There was nonprotection plan. I wouldnt expect to get a broken tv when buying from a store. I am really upset by this. Is there anything you can do?
