I purchased a $50 Best Buy gift card for my nephew at the local store. I travelled to see my family and gave it to my nephew as a birthday gift. He went to his local store, picked out his product but was unable to complete the purchase as the gift card came up as $0.
No one at the store knew what to do, the manager had to be called in and a new card was issued.
Guess what? The new card issued also had $0 balance.
We called the 1-888-716-7994 number and confirmed both cards had not been activated.
The 2nd store said the card should be activated in a couple days but it has been a week now. I'm not sure if anything is being done about it.
I've now got a very unhappy 9 year old.
Reading the forums, this is not a one-off or occasional blip, it seems to happen frequently. What gives?
