Best Buy can't deliver what they promised

I purchased the new 75" TCL 4k 6 Series tv the day it was announced, January 7, 2019. It said it was available and in stock and could be picked up today, February 4, 2019, which I thought was reasonable since they just announced it. Well I go about setting up my room for a brand new tv and yet when the day comes to pick it up I get no email about it being ready. Not until 6:30 pm do I receive any notification that the order is delayed. It is delayed because it is not in stock and the customer service rep said the store won't have any until after March 6. How is the TV I ordered the day it came out out of stock. One should have been set aside for me to pick up on the day they promised. They had to have known I wouldn't be able to pick up tody before 6:30 PM. They should have let me know days in advance that, "sorry your order is not going to be ready to be picked up on the day we originally stated." I will be taking my electronic purchases elsewhere after this experience.

After mulling this over through the night, I realized that I possibly jumped to conclusions on the cause of the issue. If TCL did not deliver the stock that Best Buy thought they would it would not be Best Buy's fault, however I would have liked more communication from Best Buy if they knew they were not going to be able to have the TV I ordered. I'm more upset with the lack of communication through the entire process.

Welcome to our community.  Each fall, the time comes for me to upgrade my phone, and I always get excited at the idea of a new device arriving in my hands.  There have been times when the estimated arrival date given to me up front turned out to be inaccurate, and due to delays out of anyone's control, I had to wait a bit longer than I wanted for my new phone.  I can see why you'd feel a similar frustration when your TV wasn't ready on the expected date, and I regret any inconvenience this may have caused you.

 

That said, I appreciate your understanding as to how our inventory is secured and the many circumstances that may cause an order to become delayed.  Along the same lines, I absolutely understand why you may have felt out of the loop here, and you have my apologies for any lack of clarity on our part.  Moving forward, you are welcome to track your order online for any updates.
