I recently went to Best Buy to buy my grandson a gaming computer. The sales associates push the protection plan, so I did get the one for the gaming monitor. Everything was great, it was all set up. I was trying to move the monitor in to position and it fell forward and hit me and the edge of the chair. Well, that was it the screen was ruined. I thought it was good that I got the protection plan. Wrong! I took the monitor to the Geek Squad within the Best Buy store and was told there wasn't anything they could do for me because the screen was cracked. I told them I purchased the protection plan and was told it didn't cover that. Why do they push you to get the protection plan when they aren't worth the paper they are written on. I even tried to buy another one but they didn't have any in stock. Now I am paying for a monitor that isn't working and if you want them to recycle it they will charge you $25. I am really annoyed and out $269 for a monitor.

Failures from normal wear and tear, ghost images, and damage from a power surge are just a few examples of what GSP covers. With that said, accidental damage, such as a cracked screen, would not be covered, for this type of device.
