Hello my family had purchased an open imac in 2014 and i sent my recept into apple and they rejected the warranty to be updating it to when i purchased it and i eventally found out there was a policy change that they did in 2015 and i would like to see what the resulution would be to my issue. i would also like to include a message i was given from apple themsevles . This message is coming straight from apple support Warranty reset would have had to be requested by Best Buy when the unit was returned

You should post this in the forum under Computers.
However, if you purchased it in 2014 it is 5 years out of warrety now.

my warranty was from 2013-2014 not 2014-2015 and with that policy change its a bestbuy issue still

That does not change anything. You are not going to be able to get warrenty servcie anymore.

Hello i purchased an open box imac a number of years ago and i believe bestbuy forgot to update the manufacture warranty and apple told me bestbuy was suppose to do this on me behalf and its outside of apple's hands how will bestbuy fix this?

Like everyone above, I don't understand what you are looking to change. If the issue had happened during that 2013-2015 range when it should have been under warranty but Apple didn't reflect that, I could see the need for Best Buy to fix the issue. Regardless of what warranty window is listed in the paperwork, you're several years outside of that period. What can Best Buy fix that would change anything? At this point, it would be under Apple's flat rate out-of-warranty repairs. Although, with that age under it's belt it might be better to replace it with a new machine.
