Viper Remote Start

In Oct 2015, I had a Viper 5806v 2-way Security + Remote start system installed on my 2008 Acura TL. I informed the installer that I would like the ball bearing tilt switch installed and the signature Viper chirp installed. Instead, the installer refunded me for the ball bearing switch and hooked up my factory horn to the security alarm. I had to bring my car back a second time on another date and speak to a manager to have the installer hook up the viper chirp module, because the installer was unwilling to connect the extra wires stating, “the horn is louder so you should use the horn”.

I have brought my car to have this remote start system serviced on 1/10/2017, 2/2/2017, 5/8/2018, 8/7/2018 due to the system malfunctioning. On my most recent visit, I was told by the installer that the “system was stuck in diesel mode, but I can’t figure out why, so I just set the timing different so you’re car will start anyway”. I do not have a diesel car, and this explanation seemed flawed. It has worked for a few months, but now the remote start is not working at all and the security system works intermittently.

I called the Northeast Philadelphia Best Buy on 11/20/2018 to make an appointment, and the next appointment available wasn’t until 12/04/2018. I was then told that the “brain” which controls the Viper system would need to be removed and sent to Viper before I could be offered an warranty replacement. Due to scheduling conflicts, I used Best Buy’s automated system in my confirmation email to reschedule my appointment. I saw that there was an appointment available for 11/24 at 3:15 at the Willow Grove location. I scheduled that appointment. Today, at 2:00pm I received a call from the installer at Willow Grove stating that he was behind schedule and that I would need to reschedule my appointment. I could not take the next available appointment today at 5:00pm, because i was already at the Willow Grove mall, and didnt want to drive home and drive back there in another hour. He then stated that anyway, he would only know how to remove the Viper brain and that he does not know how to install the replacement. Even though he is the installer calling from the Willow Grove install bay.

He instructed me that I would need to make a different appointment with a different installer. He set me up with an appointment for December 10th at the Northeast Philadelphia location.

At this point, after several repair appointments, I would like to have the system fixed in a timely manner. I would like the brain swapped out, and after several malfunctions, I feel the Viper brain should be swapped out immediately insteady removing the malfunctioning one and sending that to Viper. I could have gotten this system for a fraction of the price and installed somewhere else, but I opted to buy the system and have it installed at Best Buy due to the seemingly easy warranty process. However, it is not easy. It always takes 2 weeks to get an appointment and I get sent home with temporary fixes. Now I am being told that i need to wait 3 weeks for an appointment, and then wait while the Viper brain is sent out and inspected, rendering me without a remote start or security system for over a month.
