Toshiba Amazon FireTv 55” Connectivity Issues

I bough a new Toshiba 55” Amazon FireTV about 6 weeks ago and I’m already experiencing connection issues. Browsing these forums as well as Amazon forums it appears this is a common theme with this tv. The tv won’t stay connected to the internet for more than about 30 seconds. All my other devices in my house work just fine without any streaming/connection issues. So I don’t believe it’s my ISP. The tv won’t even stay connected to the internet while on the home page while idle. It’s obviously past the 30-day return policy of Amazon already, is there any other options I may have to return this piece of garbage and get my money back?

Did you get their service plan? If so they may have more options, if not it should have a 12 month warranty from Toshiba

Welcome to our forums.  Discovering there’s an issue with your TV is almost always a frustrating experience, and hearing this is a relatively new TV is especially disappointing.  I’m sorry to hear your TV isn’t connecting to the internet as expected, and although we’ll be unable to offer a return now that the TV is outside the return/exchange period offered by our Return & Exchange Promise, there may still be options available to you.

 

As nckhammond has mentioned, you may be able to utilize Toshiba’s manufacturer warranty to repair the issues you’ve run into.  If you’ve purchased a Geek Squad Protection (GSP) plan with your TV, this could be utilized to repair your TV as well.  To begin the repair process, you can either follow this link to schedule a service with Geek Squad, or call them directly at 1-800-433-5778, and they’ll be happy to help set up an appointment for you.
