They laid to us TV OLED

On December 8th 2020 I purchased a LG OLED 4K smart TV from Best Buy which cost $2,149.99. In addition to the TV I also purchased the 5 year warranty for an additional $499.99 along with the manufactures warranty of one year. In total I spent over $2,500 to purchase a TV for my disabled wife because I always try to provide her with the best of the best, I thought that's what Best Buy is, I was so wrong. When I purchased the TV I distinctly remember asking the sales guy if the warranty covers damage. The example I used was my if my dog, who has since passed, were to jump up and hit the TV would it be covered. YES is what he replied so I continued to buy everything I described above. Less than 90 days in a mark appeared on the bottom left corner of the TV, nobody seen how it got there and my wife said when she turned TV on she heard a pop, then a cracking sound like glass break. Needless to say TV stopped working. I then proceeded to cash in on my two warranties that I purchased, at great cost, when I explained what happened to Best Buy, I was then told that the warranty does not cover physical damage. Called LG and was told the same, at this point I am completely irate because I was lied to by the sales rep back in December. I was told there isn't anything they can do and I had to take the $2500 loss. That is still where it stands today, a huge waste of money sitting in my basement because of a lie. Unreal, why would they sell a product and refuse to fix or replace it? Do accidents not happened? If my disabled wife would have fell over into it would they have replaced it then? I will never buy anything from Best Buy or LG again.

Re: They laid to us TV OLED

Hey, djlunk,

Thanks for connecting with us here, and hopefully I can get this addressed for you. I would also be upset that my Geek Squad Protection (GSP) plan is not covering the problem with this TV, when you paid an extra $500 to make sure your purchase was protected. I can confirm that damage is not covered by a GSP, and I have yet to see a manufacturer's warranty that covers damage. With that said, I would like to see if there is any possible resolution we can provide you in this matter. Can you send me a private message with your name, phone number, email address, and GSP number? To send me a private message click on the message button in my signature.
