Terrible experience with the Sony 900H

I’ve been an elite plus member for a while and love shopping at Best Buy, but I’ve had the worst luck with the Sony 900H TV. The marketing said the TV supported 4K/120 frames per second, but the vertical resolution has proven to be halved due to a hardware limitation. Local dimming cuts in and out which makes the picture on my $2,000 TV look like a $500 TV.

I keep getting EARC audio dropouts randomly. I purchased the 5 year GSP with it too but seeing as Sony seems to think this works as intended, it’s useless. All I want is a working TV for my hard earned money. I’ve owned this thing for a while and am outside the return policy. They kept promising fixes but each breakdown proves it’s just not possible. Is there any way I can speak to consumer relations? The Tv was falsely advertised and if I’d known then would have certainly went with a different model.

I’m not sure if I can add photos here comparing the TV I’m 4K/60 vs 4K/120 plus the picture of the marketing material showing that the resolutions are both the same amount of pixels but I have that too.

If you log on with a computer to your forums account there is a picture icon in the toolbar above the message box that allows you to add photos.

I would continue to recommend working with the Geek Squad to diagnose and repair this TV if it is not functioning correctly.

Can you get me in touch with someone who deals with consumer rights or relations? Every 900H model performs this way so I am assuming Geek Squad will tell me it works as intended but this is about false advertising.

My team is located here at our Corporate Campus and I am authorized to speak on behalf of Best Buy. 

 

If the specifications for this TV are incorrect, I would recommend reaching out to Sony for further assistance. Alternatively, the Geek Squad should also be able to diagnose if there is a problem with this TV.

I realize that it is a Sony issue as well but the advertising is done in Best Buy’s store. Best Buy should stand behind their products especially if the advertising is displayed in the store. I have reached out to Sony now I’m reaching out to you guys.
