TOSHIBA Warranty

I purchased a Toshiba TV in July 2018, mod: 50LF621U19, and have had a problem for a couple of months. I called Best Buy and was told that I need to go online and file a warranty request. After multiple submissions, I keep getting the same reply that they don't recognize my mod. and serial number. I've tried calling different numbers, all to no avail. I was wondering if there are certain sizes of TVs that Best Buy warrant for Toshiba, or is this just a lost cause? If so, where would I find this information?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Re: TOSHIBA Warranty

Good afternoon, Milton,

Welcome to our forums, and thank you for connecting with us for assistance.  I’ve recently had some issues with the TV in my living room, as it decides to turn off and on whenever it feels like it.  It’s been a pretty trying experience, so I completely understand wanting to make sure this is resolved as soon as possible.

If you haven’t done so yet, I’d recommend contacting our Geek Squad at 1-800-433-5778, to schedule a service appointment for this TV.  Alternatively, you could schedule a service with Geek Squad through our site, which you can do here.  While the TV may be serviced by Geek Squad, the manufacturer’s warranty will be utilized to service the TV.

I hope this helps, but if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to visit our Support Forums again.

All the best,

Re: TOSHIBA Warranty

A few things that I learned from this experience is that when Toshiba asks for a serial number, it’s not the serial number listed on the back of TV that says serial number, (go figure). It’s actuall the date of manufacture barcode number. This is very confusing. If you didn’t purchase the extended service plan from Best Buy, and it’s under the one year warranty, you must go through Toshiba first and they’ll set up a Geek Squad visit. Being unable to get ahold of Toshiba, using the 1-800 number above, the Best Buy customer Service connected me to Toshiba. After all is said and done, I got the TV replaced. Hope this might help someone else. Thanks
