Literally going through the same issue! Geek Squad said they will not honor the GSP for replacement because the plan expired, however, the plan expired over 2-1/2 months after I initialized the repair. GS tech used a hair dryer to thaw the freezer in order to replace the icebox. That tech has since quit the company!

 

Tech comes out today and says they are not going to warranty it since there is "heat damage". When I told the tech what happened he cancelled the appointment as if he NEVER even came to my house so he didn't have to post comments. I had to contact GS support and they rescheduled the appointment! The customer service at Geek squad has declined significantly over the years! They put the wrong refrigerator on the repairs, the wrong GSP and then had the audacity to blame me for something they did! The amount of stress within th best buy dynamic isn't worth any of the savings based on the amount of time your fridge is being service. Mine is supposed to be fixed for the same thing a 4th time! Geek squad tech says "make sure you dump your ice box every day in order to keep it from failing!"
