Having similar issue - bought my son’s computer into Geek Squad for repair - was quoted ‘somewhere between $200-300 for a screen issue repair’. Price was based on price we paid for computer ($1,499). Of course, after sent out to service center to evaluate, now repair price goes to over $600 including the mandatory $89 evaluation fee. I’ve paid for Geek Squad annual protection for 3 computers for MANY years but the plan I have doesn’t cover or discount any repairs. No one at Best Buy able to help me. Registered complaint with BBB but haven’t heard back from anyone. Totally unethical to quote a price and then expect consumer to authorize paying more than double while computer is sitting at the Service Center.

After contacting the E Hanover store, corporate and anyone else I could speak with NO-ONE would reduce the repair price. My son is in college and can’t afford to pay that type of repair money. We are having computer returned to us and he will use it as is. So disappointed with Best Buy...

Thanks for providing us those additional details. I'm actually a college student myself so I totally understand the monetary restraints that can add.
